Captain's meeting for the Club Open and Women's Division will take place at 8:00 am Saturday morning at the Lewis fields (Frisbee Central). You will be able to go to your satellite fields from there.
--------------
Captain's meeting for the College Open teams will take place at the College Intramural fields at 7:30 am Saturday morning. You will be able to go to your satellite fields from there.
***College Teams: You will be able to park your cars in the College Intramural fields parking lot only until 3:30!! YOUR CARS WILL BE TOWED BEGINNING AT 3:30!!!***
Note that all college games end at 3:20 at the college fields on Saturday. If your game runs late, or you do, it would behoove you to have a teammate move your car outside of the parking lot. There will be more spots available down the road, and your college T.D. will have more details.
Hello everybody!!! We are excited to have (some of) the information you've been waiting for!
First of all, I want to thank everyone for making my job easy and contacting and paying me well ahead of time. It made my end go very smooth this year, at least so far. A few things to note:
1.) This year's Harvest Moon coincides with the University of Arkansas' Homecoming weekend. Fayetteville is going to be full to the brim with people, especially on Saturday, so plan that into your drive times. I would add an extra 15-20 minutes to wherever you go over 10 or so miles.
2.) The football game time is still TBA, but our fields are going to be near the football stadium. We will do our best to plan around the game time and have you off the road before and after the game, but be aware that traffic is insane an hour before and an hour after the game.
3.) The party will be at George's Majestic Lounge again this year, and because town will be full, so will George's. GET THERE EARLY!!! Teams that are used to rolling in around 10:30 - 11:00 might not have that luxury this year. We expect to reach capacity early. And please have a designated driver ready to go. I'll provide some taxi information, but I wouldn't rely on them being ready to roll at all times.
4.) We are excited to have Five Ultimate coming down and partying with us this year with some sweet new lines of merchandise. We will have all of the old favorites plus some awesome new schwagg. I can't release the design yet, but it may be the best design in years, no joke. You're going to want a piece of Harvest's 21st birthday, so don't miss out.
5.) Harvest Moon is, in fact, turning 21 this year and we are going big. In fact, we have a record 73 teams coming this year!! We are so glad you all can be a part of this monumental event. If you haven't started putting costumes together, I suggest you get started now. We are expecting some great designs this year and the costume contest and party is going to be epic!
Harvest 4 Harvest:
Each year we like to give back to the community by doing a canned food drive for the Food Banks of Northwest Arkansas. This year is especially important to replenish the supply used after the Joplin disaster so please bring as much as you are able! The winner of the canned food drive each year gets $100 off of next year's bid. There will be collection centers at each Frisbee Central. Thanks to April Johnson for heading this up this year, and congratulations to last year's winners!
Hotels:
We tried and tried to find hotels in Fayetteville for y'all, but it wasn't happening with homecoming this year. We did finally find a hotel in Springdale, the Sleepy Inn & Suites, that set aside 30 rooms for us at $149 a night. Believe me, that is incredibly cheap for this weekend! This deal also expires this Wednesday, Oct 19. That's 2 days from now!! Book early if you are going to want to stay in the hotel. Ask for the "Harvest Moon" rooms. Directions on the Map.
Camping/Housing:
For those that don't want to mess with the hotels, we will also have camping available, and housing available for only some. Casey "Boy" Hooper is in charge of housing this year. If you are interested, please email Casey at caseyboy24@gmail.com. We can't ensure that we will have space for everybody in housing, so if you do choose this option, have a tent and some sleeping bags available for backup. We will be camping mostly in people's back yards, but there is also the main camping site at Marshalltown (Plan A) and a backup site at the Rain Fields (Plan B) on the Map.
Fields:
All fields will appear on the map attached in the email and labelled as such:
-Lewis Fields - Plan A Frisbee Central for Club Open and Women's Divisions
-Gary Hampton Softball Complex - Satellite Field
-The Donald W. Reynolds Boys and Girls Club - Satellite Field
-College Intramural Fields - Frisbee Central for all College Open teams
-Walker Park - Satellite Field
-Babe Ruth Baseball Park - Satellite Field
Backup/Rain Fields Only:
-Rain Fields - Plan B Frisbee Central for Open and Women's Division
Plan A: The weather holds and we are able to run everything as regularly scheduled. In this case, Frisbee Central for the Club Open and Women's division will be at Lewis Fields, located on the Map. The Club Open/Women's Satellite locations are also listed on the Map. The College division will have its captain's meeting at the College Intramural fields, listed on the map. The College Satellite fields are also listed. Food and fun after games on Saturday will take place at the "Food and Fun" location on the map, also known as Marshalltown. I will have a more comprehensive list of what specific teams will be going to which fields soon, I am still waiting on a couple of teams to finalize payments.
Plan B: Torrential monsoon rains come through and we are kicked off of some of our fields... In this case, Frisbee Central for Club Open and Women's will be relocated from Lewis and onto the Rain fields. The Food will also be served here before the Party. College fields should remain the same, as should the Satellite fields. Again, I will have a more comprehensive list of which teams will play where coming soon.
Dogs:
We love dogs! Dogs are invited to all fields EXCEPT the College Intramural Fields; no dogs on the College fields. All dogs must have a leash or be on a line, and please clean up after your pets. BE GOOD DOG OWNERS!!!!
Alcohol Disclaimer:
None of the field locations allow alcohol!!! This is especially the case for the College Intramural field location this year. NO ALCOHOL WILL BE TOLERATED!
We have had some problems in the past with misconduct after the games as well. Please act appropriately both on and off the fields. We had a team last year who acted out of line and they have not been invited back this year. The city and the U of A owns all of our fields and have a strict no alcohol policy. There will be supervisors from the U of A Sports and Recreation Dept. on the fields Saturday and Sunday, so please do not jeopardize our relationship with the college or your future at our tournament.
Pool/Specific Field Information:
We will be using a website called Ultimate Central (ultimatecentral.com) for all field and pool information, including all round and captain's meeting times. This will also allow us to keep up with real time scoring information. I will post the links, but the pool information has not been set up yet. They should be up very soon, and I will send an update when we have completed that part. Bring your smartphones to the fields to help update scores!!!
The link is: http://ultimatecentral.com/tournament/2011-harvest-moon
Mobile access: http://ultimatecentral.com/tournament/2011-harvest-moon/mobile
Spirit Award:
In order to win the spirit award at Harvest Moon, not only does your team need to exhibit excellent sportmanship and goodtimesitude, but you must also be wearing your costumes BOTH days of game play. The more thought you put into your team costumes, the more likely you are to win the coveted wooden disc spirit award. Come prepared to have a great time, and you can't lose!
Saturday Dinner:
We will provide a great dinner and games this year after pool play at the Marshalltown Co. site listed on the map. We had some feedback that last years dinner was not up to par, so this year we are going all out. Smoked brisket, vegetarian options, spaghetti, salad the works.
Party:
Finally, the important stuff.
The Party will take place at George's Majestic lounge after dinner Saturday night. 18 to enter, 21 to drink. Get your costumes ready and get there, because, as mentioned earlier, we plan on reaching capacity early. The costume contest will take place later on in the evening, around midnight. We have Fayetteville's very own Cadillac Jackson performing for us Saturday night, and two of Fayetteville's best DJ's, DJ Tony and DJ Nicholas Scott taking us into Sunday morning. As always, we get the extra hour after the time change for the longest ultimate party of the year. Location found on the map.
As mentioned above, please have your designated drivers assigned and ready to drive. It will be a crazy weekend in town already, and we want y'all to have a great and safe time.
What I Need From You:
Just a few things to help us out with the logistics. Could you please reply with the following:

Get ready folks... Harvest Moon is finally legal and we are going to do it up right. We will again be partying at the legendary George's Majestic Lounge the weekend of the time change, November 5th and 6th, giving us an extra hour to get down like Scott Brown. Hope to see all you guys and gals this fall!! It's gonna be epic, and I'm not talking about the epic that your friends said about the party last night... I'm talking 21st birthday, things on fire, homecoming weekend, wake up wondering where your costume wound up and what's that in your hair and whose tent you're in and how in the hell you're going to get to the fields because your team couldn't find your dumb ass EPIC. Don't miss out.
Cheers friends,
Jon Champagne
P.S. If you haven't done so yet, become friends with Harvest Moon on Facebook to tag (or untag...) pics from the party and check out this event page for information updates:
